I received my B.A degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, in Psychology, my M.S. in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University, and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University. My clinical training was completed at Boston University Medical Center’s Douglas Thomm Clinic for Children and my internship at Harvard University Medical School’s Children’s Hospital / Judge Baker Guidance Clinic, in Boston.

My clinical interests have included marital/relationship issues, work stress, depression and anxiety, and the impact of life stresses (e.g., divorce) upon adult development. I have led a variety of therapy groups, including one on men’s issue and another on work stress. I have developed and led workshops on Assertiveness Training, Diversity Issues and the Process of Change.

At Kaiser Medical Center in Redwood City I created and managed the Intensive Outpatient Program for Children and Adolescents, and the Divorce Recovery Program for children. For many years, I gave a monthly presentation on stress management for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Kaiser.

I also provided organizational development consultation for global corporations in Asia, and training to mental health workers in Taiwan following the earthquake. I created and led a workshop on leadership and change for the Buddhist Church of America, and currently provide consultation to the Santa Barbara Province of the Franciscan Friars.

I was an Assistant Clinical Professor and Director of Clinical Training in Child and Adolescent Services (CAS) at UCSF/SFGH, and taught at the graduate level at California School of Professional Psychology (now called Alliant International University) in Alameda, California, and the Professional School of Psychology in San Francisco.

Currently I work at Santa Clara Kaiser Medical Center, in the Department of Psychiatry, where I teach classes on Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Anger Management, Forgiveness, and Bipolar Disorder.
