Linda Hammond RDT REAT MFT is a licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist (MFT), a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) and Registered
Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with private practice offices in
San Francisco and Oakland/Berkeley since 1989. She received her
Masters in Counseling Psychology form the California Institue of
Integral Studies. She has worked as an addiction therapist at Haight
Ashbury Detox and Rehabilitation and a child therapist for
the children of recovering addicts at the Women’s Alcoholism Center.
Linda was the executive director/clinical director for eight years at
the Circle Counseling Center in San Francisco,
which provided treatment for children from families affected by
substance
abuse and HIV disease.
She has been involved with the process of guiding children
through
difficult life transitions and disturbing internal emotional conditions
for
over 30 years using Playtherapy, Sandplay Therapy and Drama/Movement
Therapy.
Her work includes a deep understanding of the issues for both women and
men
involved in recovering from substances and sex addiciton, while
developing
and focusing on treatment specifically for women. She has also
developed
treatment using expressive arts and body-oriented psychotherapy.
In her private practice Linda is interactive and engaged and
works
with dreams with clients. Her practice focuses on women's psycology,
children
and expressive arts, transpersonal psychology. She has extensive
experience
with trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, early childhood
issues,
including childhood bipolar disease.
In addition to her private practice Linda currently supervises
interns at the Child Therapy Institute of Marin, a training and
treatment center for children using sandplay and playtherapy and is
Adjunct Faculty member at California Institute of Integral Studies,
where she supervises interns and teaches in the Expressive Arts Masters
Program.
